Quality Engineer

Job Purpose: Lead the achievement of daily, monthly, and yearly quality objectives for a defined Value Stream within the New Port Richey, FL site through support of yearly improvement plans and leadership of daily execution to those plans. This position will have direct responsibility for the product quality for the assigned value stream. This position is responsible for daily results in the critical KPI areas of Safety and Quality for the Value Stream of responsibility. This position will have a key focus on the internal and external quality performance and developing capable processes to meet current and future quality objectives.
POSITION OBJECTIVES OUTLINE
Safety: 50% reduction in year-over-year OSHA Recordables
Quality: Achieve yearly External (customer) PPM goals
Achieve yearly Internal Quality goals (scrap $'s, yield, etc.)
Delivery: Meet Customer Corrective Action closure date requirements
Achieve yearly External Quality Escape POR closure goals
Achieve yearly Internal Non-Conformance closure goals
Others: Drive continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing and QMS processes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Achieve yearly Safety, Quality and Delivery targets through:
Effective and efficient Daily Management leadership
Effective and efficient Problem Solving using the Danaher Problem Solving Process
Action Plan development and execution
Act as a change agent to implement a constant state of improvement by doing things differently.
Assume a leadership role to ensure the successful training, execution, and sustainment of DBS and QMS activities to drive safety and quality results, across the Value Stream.
Assume a leadership role to actively manage non-conforming product, associated corrective actions and to drive closure within the targeted turn-around times.
Relate with customer/government/FAA for all Quality matters to include customer audits, customer telcons, quality escape action reviews and zero defect initiatives, as required for the Value Stream.
Develop and provide effective quality inspection planning and ensure the customer quality requirements are identified and implemented for the Value Stream.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action development and implementation activities.
Administer quality policies and procedures and provide Quality Assurance supervision for the value stream; to include auditing and product/process performance measure development and management for the value stream.
May perform inspection, first article inspections and/or source inspection, as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
At least three years' experience within a manufacturing organization with a metric and results driven culture, required.
Prior daily management and process development experience, required.
Prior experience with utilizing lean methodology and tools to improve quality and / or overall operations processes, required.
Quality Assurance experience and knowledge of ISO 9001/ AS 9100 standards, Quality Systems, PR/MRB (Preliminary Review and Material Review Boards for Non-conforming product), Calibration Systems, engineering drawing interpretation, inspection methodology and metrology, required.
Prior Aerospace and/or highly-regulated industry experience, highly preferred.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of quality improvement success in a manufacturing organization within a metric driven, stretch goal environment with yearly improvement goals.
Demonstrated success in developing and using Action Plans to achieve stretch goal yearly targets.
Demonstrated ability to properly balance the management of day to day results with systemic problem solving and root cause analysis. Comfortable in the details and knowledgeable about the critical details, while comfortable driving systemic, prioritized activities for yearly goal achievement.
Demonstrated passion for Continuous Improvement and DBS and a detailed understanding of Lean tools and concepts with the leadership ability to drive their execution and sustainment.
Demonstrates a bias to driving ownership and accountability and to lead by example.
Self-starter, with experience driving toward team-based organizational structure and culture, preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment, and drive effective cross-functional results.
Demonstrated aptitude of change management and sustainment, required.
Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
