DESCRIPTION BENEFITS QUESTIONS General Description The Customer Service Specialist II- Public Works role involves responsible and advanced clerical and public contact work in obtaining, maintaining, and providing information regarding a variety of County operations.
Provides a professional and courteous response via telephone, in person, in writing and on-line.
The ideal Customer Service Specialist II candidate will possess a demonstrated background involving use of a personal computer and providing exemplary customer service involving frequent public contact.
Essential Job Functions Answers telephone calls and directs them accordingly.
Receives requests for information and/or complaints regarding the services of the County.
Provides specific information about procedures and regulations.
Resolves questions and problems.
Processes records, worksheets, logs, and applications for services.
Establishes and maintains files and records.
Obtains information necessary to prepare files and complete necessary forms.
Performs data retrieval and entry into a software application.
Updates information in the computer.
Generates reports from the computer.
Assists citizens with inquiries, complaints and investigations.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures.
Knowledge of County departments, operations and regulations.
Ability to maintain records/files, prepare reports and correspondence.
Ability to meet and deal with the public effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, in person, in writing or on-line.
Ability to make decisions and work without close supervision.
Ability to operate a personal computer and other office equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain files accurately and legibly.
Minimum Requirements PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication.
Upon Emergency Operations Center activation, employees must be prepared to work additional hours and job duties.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND
Experience:
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
One (1) year experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact.
Experience in the operation of a personal computer required.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
