3 Full-time 2 days ago Full Job Description JOB The Pasco County Information Technology department is currently seeking to fill the position of IT Technician II - Wiring/Phone Support.
This position provides network wiring installation services for county buildings.
Position will also provide first level phone support and installation.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Provides Cat 5e and Cat 6 wiring installations to support, telephones and network/telecommunications.
Maintains and reports repairs for communication lines and telephones.
Serves as point-of-contact with vendors to schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance on communication lines and telephone equipment.
Advises, trains, and assists end users and fellow employees on telephone operations and usage.
Updates documentation manuals with new procedures and modifications to existing procedure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ability to pull and punch down network cable and diagnose/repair cat5/6 network connections.
Ability to follow established standards and make suggestions for improvement.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to accurately perform detailed tasks and adjust and adapt to changing work processes.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
Ability to climb ladders and crawl through ceiling spaces for cable pulls.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND
Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree in Computer Science or related field OR Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma with two (2) years' experience in the installation of CAT 5e/CAT 6 networks.
Experience with as many of the following as possible is preferred:
PBX/TDM/Key phone systems, VOIP telephone systems, email and cellular Push to Talk technologies, smartphones and email integration.
Android and IOS operating systems, wireless hotspots (Mifi), IP and subnets, firewalls, and Internet security and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
For In-house applicants:
This position qualifies for DAP.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
Comptia A
certification or equivalent technical certificate preferred; required if applicant does not have an Associate's Degree.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
